SCHOLARSHIP

IMG_0086.JPG

The Theta Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta prides itself on strong academic performance. For years, we have achieved academic excellence at the University of Denver and internationally among our Gamma Phi Beta peers. Over the 2012-2014 biennium, Gamma Phi Beta has achieved the highest GPA among University of Denver sororities. At the 2014 Gamma Phi Beta Convention, we were awarded for having the 2nd best GPA internationally, receiving honorable mention for the Chancellor E.O. Haven Award. We also won a Scholastic Excellence Award for having a GPA that was above the all women and all sorority average at the University of Denver for two years.

Our scholarship program recognizes the achievements of our stellar academic sisters and challenges sisters to improve their scholastic achievement. This includes gifting sisters who have achieved a 4.0 quarter GPA with a scholarship pearl to dangle on their Gamma Phi Beta lavalier necklaces. The program also encourages sisters to attend study sessions with each other and with other sororities and fraternities.

Our sisters study a variety of subjects, including International Studies, Business, Marketing, Art, Biology, Communications, Hospitality Management, Psychology, International Business, Environmental Science, History, Accounting, and much more! This variety allows us to use our sisters as sources of academic guidance and provides us with a great opportunity to study in groups and bond as sisters. Seeking guidance from sisters in the same field of study continuously proves to be an asset for our chapter.
