ABOUT US

The Theta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta is one of six sororities at the University of Denver. We were founded on campus in 1897 when our first class of women were initiated. Later, in 1913, Theta of Gamma Phi Beta became the first sorority in Colorado to establish a chapter house.

We are rooted in true sisterhood and consider ourselves to be devoted to our four core values:  Love, Labor, Learning, and Loyalty. We strive to build confident women of character who celebrate sisterhood and make a difference in the world around us.

Women from our chapter are involved in activities and organizations across campus including campus tour guiding, undergraduate student government, Pioneer Leadership Program, Greek Council, intramural sports, Living and Learning Communities, business organizations, and more! Not only are our sisters dedicated to Gamma Phi Beta and active as campus leaders, but we thrive academically as well. We have consistently held an average GPA above both the All - Women's Undergraduate average GPA and Panhellenic average GPA.

Our Guiding Principles:

We promote lifelong commitment, intellectual and personal growth and service

to humanity.

We perpetuate our heritage as we commit to the growth of our Sorority.

We foster enduring friendships.

We advocate ethical behavior, respect, authenticity, accountability and

Integrity.

We aspire to excellence in all that we do.

Our Philanthropic Mission:

Our philanthropic mission is to provide experiences and resources that build

spiritual, mental and social resilience in girls. We do this through our philanthropic focus, Building Strong Girls.

Our Motto: Founded upon a rock

"Since the rock is the firmest and most enduring substance, able to withstand the ravages of time, and offering the strongest protection, it seemed fitting that Gamma Phi Beta should be thus founded." - Founder, E. Adeline Curtis
